Nice job with this article. You made it sound so perfect that I want to buy one. The apartments in New York NY, where I live, are ok, but nothing special. And I just got one of my own. But reading this got me thinking. The view, the amenities, the whole thing is just great.

I'm also looking for short-term rent for an upscale apartment in Boston. I'll be coming from New York, and I'm basically looking for a luxury apartment that is as grand as this New York apartment rental (short term) I'm currently in.

I am in search of a studio or one bedroom preferably furnished but unfurnished would work. I am looking for a short term rent from may 1st through the end of august. I am hoping to stay under 2,400 a month. It would be for two adults.

Most big furniture stores carry such a large selection of 'clunky' furniture. It's nice to see that some stores are actually conforming by watching trends that appeal to their customers.

Hey Courtland - looks like you have a great site there! Congrats on that (plus the whole MIT thing...not too shabby)!

As for finding a good leasing broker, that's certainly almost as hard as finding a good apartment, so I feel for you, but you can always start here with Jillian or one of our other leasing pro's. Without being too self promotional ;) I'm thrilled by how they've been able to help so many of happy customers!

My roommates and I went through the stressful process of apartment hunting in Boston just this summer. We found the Craigslist experience to be awful, and I think your post really hits home.

As renters, we're overwhelmed by the number of properties and brokers -- it would be great to dial up up a broker and get excellent service from the get-go, but where would we start? On the other hand, a site like Craigslist seems greats because well, it's the age of the internet, we're lazy, and we want everything in one place.

Unfortunately, even though Craigslist is the most popular website for this kind of thing, it's stuck in 1999. It's run by a few guys in a house in San Francisco -- they can't possibly hope to provide decent service across every section of their site to every city in America. And so you have scams, bait-and-switch listings, a lack of useful features, and a major headache for brokers and renters alike.

Now I just graduated from MIT with a degree in computer science, so of course my solution was to make my own site: www.rentescope.com. By focusing on the Boston area I hope to make it a service with the kind of quality Craigslist will never have, and by providing some great features I hope to make it easier than ever for renters to connect with trustworthy brokers and property owners.

A furniture outlet can be a terrific way to outfit your home or office in comfort and style at a low cost. Outlet stores have been around for years now and have been a way for anyone, but especially bargain shoppers to get the brand name and top of the line products such as clothing, shoes and even pots and pans, at lower prices than they would find at a regular retailer.

Nice post! Whether someone's relocating to Boston or just making a short move within the city, it is such a huge help to get a permit to block off some parking at your building for moving day. For the $100 or so it will cost you, it makes the move so much easier and I know I wouldn't move without reserving parking permits!

What are the interiors like? This is a pretty cool building, I would love to check it out some time. I tour a lot of lofts in downtown Boston. I get the history of the building...but I'm not that into the name.
